Matt Serpico All Star

About this program

The Alyce All-Stars program exists to highlight Alyce Customers and Friends who have mastered the art of “personal experience.”

An All-Star prioritizes Building Rapport, Earning Trust, and Generating Loyalty over making someone feel like just another face in the crowd.

All-Stars challenge the status quo and – while they’re not officially Alyce employees – we consider them an extension of our team. They find creative ways to infuse our core values of Give First, Give Consistently, Be Crafty, Seize the Present, and Unwrap the Possibility into their unique way of doing business.

This week’s All-Star is Matt Serpico, Lead Account Executive at UserTesting

Q: Share with us some of your personal interests?
I enjoy watching sports, college football specifically. I used to be a football player so I’m also really into fitness, weightlifting, and playing sports – basketball and football. So like anything outside, really.

I also really like to cook, I make all the meals in my household.

Q: What was your first AIM screen name?
Sportsguy25 I think. I played a lot of sports and my number was always 25 so pretty self explanatory but it worked.

Q: What song is on repeat right now for you?
It depends on my activity.

When I’m cooking I like to listen to just Top Hits. When I’m working out I like to listen to mostly hip hop music, and then when I’m just doing work and need something to listen to I have a friend who always sends me new music to listen to, so he curates a lot of playlists that I just plugin and play.

Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A professional athlete, probably football.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about the place where you live? Why and how do you take advantage of it?
Where I am now in Georgia, I really like going and meeting up with friends at all local breweries around here. Just being outside, eating, and drinking, you can’t beat that. We also have a 10 month old daughter and I love bringing her out to parks and being able to have her play outside is nice.

Where I grew up in New York, I loved being able to go out on the boat and go fishing out on Long Island.

Q: What would be the title of your first music album?
Serpico, just self titled. There’s actually already a movie with that same title which I think is cool so I’d just play on that.

Q: What’s something you consider yourself to be ok at but not great at?
Baking. I picked it up during COVID so of course I started making sourdough. I still have the starter in my fridge. It’s definitely not the best bread ever but it’s fun to make.

Q: What is the best gift you have ever received?
Definitely my wife and daughter. Having a baby in the middle of a pandemic was stressful but it was well worth it.

Q: Beach, safari, or forest vacation?
The beach, that’s what I see for our next vacation. I do love to hike but the beach is more relaxing.

Q: If you could give a piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t be afraid to fail.

Q: Would you rather be an olympic gold medalist or win a nobel prize? And why?
Olympic Gold Medalist, for sure.

Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl? How do you like to start your day?
Morning person, probably from early morning lifts when I was playing football but it just stuck. I love to start my day with some sort of activity Monday through Friday, it just helps me feel like I’m getting a good start to the day.

Q: How did you meet your childhood best friend?
I was the new kid, so I just kind of clung to whoever sat next to me in class. Luckily they were really nice and we’re still friends to this day. He actually lives down the street from me right now, just had a daughter, and our wives are really close. It worked out well.
