Matilda Miglio All-Star

About this program

The Alyce All-Stars program exists to highlight Alyce Customers and Friends who have mastered the art of “personal experience.”

An All-Star prioritizes Building Rapport, Earning Trust, and Generating Loyalty over making someone feel like just another face in the crowd.

All-Stars challenge the status quo and – while they’re not officially Alyce employees – we consider them an extension of our team. They find creative ways to infuse our core values of Give First, Give Consistently, Be Crafty, Seize the Present, and Unwrap the Possibility into their unique way of doing business.

This week’s All-Star is Matilda Miglio, Senior Marketing Manager at Drift!

Learn More About Matilda Miglio

Q: Share with us some of your personal interests?
Outside of my 9-to-5, I’ve got my animal pack so I have three cats and a dog. I also bought a house last year and am gardening a lot in the nicer months and doing a lot of DIY projects around the house. And I grew up horseback riding so I teach lessons and do my own riding on the weekends as well. Oh and then I have projects that I get really into and then just stop, so for a while I was really into knitting and have whole bins of yarn and needles but I just kind of stopped.

Q: What was your first AIM screen name?
Loverhorse34 but I promise I’m not the stereotypical horse girl.

Q: What song is on repeat right now for you?
I really love the music from the All The Boys I’ve Loved Before movies on Netflix. The music just has great vibes and I use it as my running playlist

Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A veterinarian, but then I hated my 9th grade biology class and just decided that wasn’t for me. Even though I love animals.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about the place where you live? Why and how do you take advantage of it?
Where I live right now and where I grew up are both surrounded by water. I grew up in Michigan and now live in Providence Rhode Island. Growing up I didn’t think bodies of water were that important to me but now I love it. We have kayaks and floaties and can walk through my backyard to get to the ocean and I love it.

Q: What would be the title of your memoir?
I feel like I’ve lived a lot of lives before the one I’m living right now. I’ve been working since I was 13. I’ve worked at a vet, I worked at an OBGYN, I worked in retail at a shoe store, I used to work at a chiropractor’s office, I was a financial planner and took my Series 7. I did many things before I made my way into tech. Maybe we can play on how I love cats and do “The 9 Lives of Matilda Miglio” or something.

Q: What’s something you consider yourself to be ok at but not great at?
This is tough for me because I tend to not do things I’m not good at because I like to be good at what I do. I would have to say the DIY house projects I do, because they’re definitely not professional level but they get done.

Q: What is the best gift you have ever received?
My horse, I got it for my birthday when I was 13. That gift probably changed my life.

Q: Beach, safari, or forest vacation?
Safari. I just want to go on a bougie safari like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Put me in one of those jeeps with sunglasses and binoculars and I’ll be the happiest.

Q: If you could give a piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Everything works out. You are find and you’re a good person and you will make sure everything turns out ok.

Q: Would you rather be an olympic gold medalist or win a nobel prize? And why?
Part of me wants to win that olympic gold medal because I’m extremely competitive. But history-wise, being a woman Nobel Prize winner is a winning move too. I think my skill set would work better as an olympian, probably in Equestrian of course.

Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl? How do you like to start your day?
I had to force myself to be a morning person when I was commuting into Boston from Providence but now I love the morning. I used to only do things outside of my job after work, but now when I wake up early I can get stuff done before work too.

Q: How did you meet your childhood best friend?
Really sad story, all of my childhood best friends would move away after a year or two and we were too young to really keep in touch. My only friends from my childhood would be high school friends.

Q: If you could live through any event in history, what event would that be? Why would you want to live through that event?
I kind of want to skip ahead 50 years and know what happens, but then I want to come back to where I am.
