About this program

The Alyce All-Stars program exists to highlight Alyce Customers and Friends who have mastered the art of “personal experience.”

An All-Star prioritizes Building Rapport, Earning Trust, and Generating Loyalty over making someone feel like just another face in the crowd.

All-Stars challenge the status quo and – while they’re not officially Alyce employees – we consider them an extension of our team. They find creative ways to infuse our core values of Give First, Give Consistently, Be Crafty, Seize the Present, and Unwrap the Possibility into their unique way of doing business.

This week’s All-Star is Kelly Sutter, Director of Field Marketing at ASG Technologies.

Learn More About Kelly Sutter

Q: Share with us some of your personal interests?
I like to be outside when it’s warm whether it’s hiking, kayaking, it could be sitting on the deck with a glass of wine. I enjoy playing with my dog Roo, who we named that because she can jump like a kangaroo. And you know, just being with my friends and my kids whenever possible.

Q: What was your first AIM screen name or email address and what was the story behind it?
It was Keyboi and that’s because my maiden name was Boiken so it was kind of a play on words but some people didn’t really get it. I bypassed the whole internet era when I was younger so I was really introduced to it as an adult in the workplace so inherently we had less fun with it.

Q: What song is on repeat right now for you?
I don’t have a favorite song right now but whenever I want music on I tell Alexa to put on The Strokes radio, and all the music around that genre is what I’ve been playing recently. My kids are also starting to finally come around to the classics so we have the same taste in music now, which is nice.

Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be in marketing for graphic arts but when I went to college, graphic arts was not what you think of now. It was like, Oh, great, be in this art class and draw this orange.
What’s your favorite thing about the place where you live? Why and how do you take advantage of it?
I like it because it’s green when it is nice out and my family is here. I like to be outside or where my family is. Here, I have both.

Q: What would be the title of your Memoir?
Maybe something like “Just Chill”. I say that a lot, I think I’m a relatively relaxed person, so I think the theme of it all would be how to just chill.

Q: What’s something you consider yourself to be ok at but not great at?
I haven’t done it for a while, but just draw and paint. And that’s probably where the graphic arts comes from. I used to do a lot with charcoal and I haven’t picked it back up in a while, but I definitely think I’m ok at it.

Q: What is the best gift you have ever received?
My son sings, so last mothers day he sang a song and recorded it and gave it to me. I loved it so much, I told him that can be the kinds of gifts you give me forever.

He also sang at our company kickoff and did a 90 minute show for us total, and so not only did my company get to experience that gift but now I have 2 recordings I can listen to from him.

Q: Beach, safari, or forest vacation?
Forest for sure. I’m a hiker, I want to be near rivers and trees and caves, so a forest vacation for me would be great.

Q: If you could give a piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Be you and don’t forget that you’re the only one that can make you happy. I tell my daughter this as well, you don’t need someone else to make you happy and nobody’s going to make you happy except you so be confident with that.

Go after what you want. Stand your ground.

Q: Would you rather be an olympic gold medalist or win a nobel prize? And why?
I try to stay out of the limelight but maybe a Nobel Prize for creativity and innovation.

Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl? How do you like to start your day?
Definitely a morning person. I’d rather get up and have it be a light, just when the birds are just starting to sing is like my favorite time of day. Especially when it’s warm out and I can go sit outside with a cup of coffee.

Q: How did you meet your childhood best friend?
We were neighbors and ended up being friends all throughout college. We still do a girls trip together every year.

Q: If you could live through any event in history, what event would that be? Why would you want to live through that event?
It would be cool to meet somebody like Einstein and pick their brain. Like, what are you thinking? How did you get so smart? Or someone like Nostradamus to ask how they possibly knew so much when it feels like we’re still trying to figure out what they knew.
